Keine lose Züchterschar

Der Verein zur Erhaltung des Bündner Oberländer Schafes wurde nach 12 Jahren Erhaltungszucht durch Pro Specie Rara im Jahre 1996 gegründet. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt konnte sich die Rasse genug etablieren. Die Gründung des VEB war somit die Form, in der die lose Züchterschar ihre Erhaltungszucht weiterführen konnte.

ZUCHT

Pro Specie Rara kümmert sich schweizweit um die Erhaltung der genetischen Vielfalt von Pflanzen- und Tieren. Darunter auch das Bündner Oberländer Schaf, welches 1984 fast ausgestorben wäre. Pro Specie Rara Gründer Hans-Peter Grünenfelder konnte damals die letzten aufspüren und den Grundstein für die Rettung der Rasse legen.

Die verschiedenen Rassen können nur dann vor dem Aussterben bewahrt werden, wenn ihnen zahlreiche Menschen ein Zuhause geben.
